The second meeting of the participants in our
Project took place in Tortolí, Sardinia, from 19th to 25th
May.
The students that took part in the project were
Paula Barona, Lourdes Carranza, Marta Castro, Lourdes de la Torre , Carmen María Gómez y
Blanca Hidalgo. The teachers who represented the school were Ana del Moral,
Manuel Gómez Lama and Carmen Luque.
19th May
We flew to Tortoli on 19th May
via Rome. We met the French team of students and teachers from Lycée Astier at
Cagliari airport and we travelled to Tortolí by bus together. When we arrived
in Tortolí the students were picked up by the host families.
20th May
On 20th May, we travelled to Sassari
to watch a beautiful folklore festival called
the “Cavalcata Sarda” that unfortunately was called off because of heavy
rain. We visited the centre of Sassari and the Sanna National Museum.
Afterwards we travelled to Mara and celebrated a typical festival (similar to
our “romerías”) with the local people. We were warmly received and were treated
to a local pasta dish and lovely home-cooked lamb.
21st May
On Monday we spent the morning and early
afternoon at the school, Istituto d’Istruzione Superiore ITI. At the shool we
worked on our project and each team introduced the materials they had produced
about “healthy diet”.
22nd May
After meeting at school we visited the
archeological site S’Ortali ‘e Su Monte where we visited a nuraghe, a
megalithic building characteristic of Sardinia. Later on we had lunch at the
beautiful Orri beach.
23rd May
On Wednesday we went on a cycling tour of
Tortoli starting at the school. The first stop was at the Porto Frailis beach,
we went on to Arbatax Harbour where we saw the beautiful Rocce Rosse (red rock)
and finally we visited the Peschiera in the Pond of Tortoli. It was
a great day in nature!
24th May
On our last day in Tortoli we went on a boat
trip along the coast where we enjoyed the beautiful coast of Ogliastra with
magnificent views and we stopped off at some beautiful coves like the ones
at Mariolu and Goloritzé. At these coves we were able to swim in crystal clear waters.
Students and teachers had a nice meal together on the boat.
In the evening we had a festival at the school
where our Italian hosts had prepared some delicious food and some great
musical performances. The French students performed an amusing show with music
and humour, Polish students sang some songs, German students wore typical
costumes and told us about their country and Spanish students danced some
Sevillanas that they had learnt for the occasion.
Later that night we had to say goodbye to all
our friends to leave for Cagliari where we caught the plane back to Spain on 25th.
